Welcome to the UK section:
We are really excited about teaming up the UK Tar Sands Network to stage a demo-fest outside the Canadian High Commission in Grosvenor Square, London at midday on the 18th June.
We are asking people to bring flowers and messages in sympathy for all that's perished by the industry and we will have speeches before moving into the park for a picnic, music and a mass game of 'oily World' volleyball (could get messy)
In Plymouth, Devon, the Co-Op are screening the film 'Dirty Oil' for International Stop Tar Sands Day on the 18th June at 7.15pm in the Barbican, see here for details.
Down in Dorset, on Seaton beach, there will be a Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead) beach party to mark International Stop Tar Sands Day. From late afternoon.
In universities in London, Oxford, Birmingham, York, Bangor, Brighton and Norwich, People & Planet are tarring and feathering students in remembrance of the dead ducks in the tailings pond.
